Treks in Dogon Country

There are many ways to plan your trip into Dogon
country this is an
example, but the trip can be adapted according to the number of days
and the number of villages you wish to visit.
Accommodation is simple, mattresses with mosquoito nets are provided. Sleeping on the terrace under the stars if there is no rain, rooms are also available. Shower and toilet are African style. Food is delicious and fresh, but there is not so much variety because villages are isolated. Mineral water, soft drinks and beer are available for purchase but not included in quote price (because of difficulty of transporting those goods to the villages, you can expect to pay 1 000 to 1 500 FCFA for a large bottle of mineral water) Transport options include: Traveling by either public transport or private Peugeot 505's. Public transport into Dogon country is slower with much waiting around. Private Peugeot 505's can seat up to 9 passengers (including the guide).
