There are only very few towns in Ethiopia, and they are quite small.
Only 15% of the countries population lives in towns or cities. This
town had it's first stone house five years earlier, all other houses
are made with clay and a wood construction. The town is very crowded,
one has to be constantly aware not to be run over by a car, there is
no space for expansion between the higher mountains of the highland
on one side, and the much lower lowland on the other side. Most homes
have no water and no toilet. Some people here became recently very
rich, but most people are poor, they are very happy if they can start
a shoe cleaning job. The religion in this highland area is Christian,
but there are also Muslims who come from the lowland area (50% Christian
and 50% Muslim population).
